Women Power Protest Zine

This 16pp A5 risograph-printed zine was part of Women Power Protest, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery & Arts Council Collections’ partner exhibition Nov 2018 - March 2019. The exhibition and zine was curated by Emalee Beddoes-Davis and zine project managed by Helen Waite.

The zine sits alongside my design work for the exhibition.

Inspired by the bold work of feminist artists, this zine celebrates women’s activism, research and creativity in Birmingham. It includes artwork by Sarah Taylor Silverwood and Baljinder Kaur, poetry by Amerah Saleh and Jasmine Gardosi as well as an essay by Dr Nicola Gauld about the Brummie Suffragette Bertha Ryland.

The design features holographic details - as part of my work I commissioned Action Graphics to install a 7m x 3m holographic wall (quite a statement!). For the zine we letterpressed holographic foil on the covers, and recreated the holographic inside with multiple risograph layers.

Printed by The Holodeck.

This zine is available in the BMAG shop on Level 2.
